It has a population of about 2,000 and supports 3 pubs most notably the Rose and Crown, a fish and chip shop, newsagents, butchers, general store and Old Bank restaurant. As in most Norfolk villages the village sign carries a picture of its historical associations, the Snetfisham sign reminds the visitor that one of the best discoveries of ancient British gold ornaments, Torcs, were made here.. Park Farm Activity Centre offers close contact with young farm animals, deer safari, pony rides, scenic trails, an arts and crafts centre, and an adventure playground. |
There is a notable RSPB reserve at Snettisham where unique flocks of waders can be seen. Snettisham church has the second highest spire in Norfolk and is a fine example of a medieval church, it stands aside from the village which contains many interesting buildings constructed in the locally quarried carr-stone. |
